I enjoyed making my first audition shawl and it is worn most days by my friend, so I wanted to make something special for Harriet’s 90th birthday.
I did fewer stripes in one section to keep the length manageable but didn’t like it, so I cut it and added more rows and grafted it back together. Not the easiest thing I’ve ever done with more than 200 stitches on the needles!
Again I didn’t follow the pattern and changed sections as I went along.
Added an icord on the neck edge - it made a softer finish
